Charles E. Robinson was Professor Emeritus of English at the University of Delaware, where he taught from 1965 until his retirement in 2013. Born in West Virginia, he earned a bachelor’s degree at Mount St. Mary’s University and a Ph.D. from Temple University. A renowned scholar of Byron and Romanticism, he directed graduate studies, served as executive director of the Byron Society of America, and edited key literary texts including The Frankenstein Notebooks. He was widely admired for his generosity, warmth, and influence on students and colleagues.
