My dear friend
Since the receipt of your last letter I have looked daily with much anxiety for farther tidings of Mrs May. [1] that you have not told me she is better gives me, I confess, considerable apprehensions. pray give me a line. I have much to say in reply to your last – but this is not a time to write upon indifferent subjects.
