1386.1 Robert Southey to Mary Barker, 1 December 1807

1386.1 Robert Southey to Mary Barker, 1 December 1807 *

Senhora my Uncle has reached England after a six weeks passage. He has sent me the wrong letter so that I only know he is safe & now in London – but not whether Harry be with him, nor any things respecting his movements.

I expect however that he will wish me to meet him in town, the sooner the better. & expect to know this by Sundays post. – In that case my Journey will take place next week. – Now should it be so (of which you shall have immediate notice.) will it best suit you to see me first at Penkridge, – or that I should {previously make for} take Litchfield first? – Supposing either to be equally to your convenience – consider mine in the next place & tell me from which place {spot} I can best proceed to London.

God bless you
