1368. Robert Southey to Charles Watkin Williams Wynn, 4 October [1807]

1368. Robert Southey to Charles Watkin Williams Wynn, 4 October [1807] *

My dear Wynn

Will you direct the inclosed to Walter Scott, [1]  Ashiesteel, Selkirk. He had promised the Princess of Wales [2]  to ask me for a copy.

I have received this evening yours with Bedfords letters. [3]  He writes an eulogium upon poor Horace which is a good deal in character, & at which on any other occasion I should smile. the smaller cover contained the 12 £ of pension with the statement of fees &c to the tune of 38. It appears however that this was considered to be due on the 4th April, – according to which half a year more is due just now. this is better than I expected.

God bless you

RS
