1093. Robert Southey to Mary Barker, 20 August 1805

1093. Robert Southey to Mary Barker, 20 August 1805 *

Danvers is gone – & the spare bed empty. the sooner therefore you come the better, lest by any chance it should be taken possession of. Your way is from Manchester to Kendal – if by mail, you will reach Kendal about noon, if by stage at night, & must sleep at a bad inn. from Kendal to Keswick is 30 miles which you must proceed by chaise. the first stop is to Ambleside 14 – & for six miles you will have Windermere in view. If you will let me know the exact day I will, if possible, be at Grasmere – at any rate as you must pass Wordsworths door, stop there & see if you can find me.

The sooner you now come the better. I have many things to say & will defer them till we meet. All well.

Tuesday. August 20. 1805.
