Retaining Thirty Pounds from my Whitsuntide Rent [1]  (payable to Mr Hartley Coleridge in part of his claims, if the Annuitants are otherwise satisfied) [2]  & deducting the sums of 6/5d paid for repairing the roof, & 14/6 for making, painting & putting up new spouts, – I remit you a draft for the residuary <remaining> balance of £6–9-1
