3478. Robert Southey to [probably William Wilberforce], [6 May 1820] *

My dear Sir

On Monday next I am engaged to breakfast, – as I was for this morning also, – I have before me a formidable list of engagements, such indeed as almost to make me dizzy when I look at it, – Breakfast & dinner – day after day, – & for dinner every day till Tuesday 23 – inclusive, except Thursday & Friday the 18 & 19th. Should either of those days suit with your convenience, I shall not regard it a sin to be the means of withholding you from one nights parliamentary fatigue.

In great haste – Believe me my dear Sir

Yours with sincere respect

Robert Southey

Saturday Noon
