3252. Robert Southey to Henry Herbert Southey, 24 February 1819

3252. Robert Southey to Henry Herbert Southey, 24 February 1819 *

My dear Harry

Edith is in bed with a son after a tremendous labour. The child is one of the largest that Edmondson ever saw born into the world, & came stern foremost. At one he believed it would be lost, & was under no little apprehension for the mother. Thank God all seems to be going on well at last.

Our love to Louisa & Mrs Gonne.

God bless you

RS.
