Bristol
My dear friend
where is Wynn?
Little did I think when last I wrote to you what would be the subject of my next letter. Dr Vincents arts (I will give him his title) have shut me out from Ch Ch as a very unpleasant note from Dr Randolph [1] gave me to understand — you will expect me to rage & rant like a madman — Bedford no. I am cool & composed & hope as sincerely as I do for happiness either in this world or in the next to xxxxxxxx perhaps with or be to the xxxxxx. I must in one particular beg your assistance. this as it prevents my settling at Oxford for the present disables me from paying Ginger a bill I owe him. will you oblige me by doing it? as then I have no connexion with Westminster let me hear from you soon. you cannot I am sure expect I should write you a long collected letter.
yours sincerely
R. Southey
I fancy I shall enter at Baliol Oxford.
