2503. Robert Southey to Grosvenor Charles Bedford, 18 November 1814

2503. Robert Southey to Grosvenor Charles Bedford, 18 November 1814 *

My dear G.

Drop the inclosed for me on your way to Stafford Row. – I think you had better delay your reviewal of Roderick till the number after next; [1]  – first because it may stand in the way of He the Docstors book; – there may be an objection to have the name of Southey at the head of two articles: & a good word in that quarter may be to him of essential advantage. I can wait without impatience & without injury. And secondly there should be but one poetical figurante in a number, & it is Wordsworths turn to figure first [2]  – Remember I am very very solicitous that the Docstor should have a lift – [3]

I have a good story for you of Mrs C’s. signal to the General for a boat.

RS.

18 Nov 1814.
