2332. Robert Southey to Henry Herbert Southey, 17 November 1813

2332. Robert Southey to Henry Herbert Southey, 17 November 1813 *
My dear Harry
The weather & the season suiting I send you a dozen char, just brought from Crummock. They travel by the same mail which brings this letter & ought to reach you as soon, or even earlier. Take out a dozen for your own disposal, & if the coach-day suits, & the fish are in no danger, send the second dozen to Streatham. But if there be any danger from another days delay, then dispatch them with my compliments to Mrs Rickman. – Tell me their fate, that I may know whether it be worth while to make such another consignment hereafter to the losing party in this venture.
A fresh char <in London>, is, like a tortoise shell Tom-Cat – a rare avis, & to be valued accordingly. [1]
