2321. Robert Southey to Grosvenor Charles Bedford, [2 November 1813]
2321. Robert Southey to Grosvenor Charles Bedford, [2 November 1813] *
I can dine with you on Thursday, if it suit your arrangements. Your dinner will help to settle the oaths upon my subject stomach. – I do not see how I would give you any day but this, without staying in town on purpose. Let me come in the character of Bootes, & this will suit my convenience in a matter of some interest: – for I shall then be able to go from the Chamberlains office to Chelsea to make inquiry about Edwards wife.
Let me find a note in Q Ann Street on my return.
God bless you
Tuesday 8 o clock

Possibly a reference to the constellation Bootes, ‘the Waggoner’; and thus to Southey’s intention to arrive by carriage. BACK
