3010. Robert Southey to Henry Herbert Southey, 7 August [1817]

3010. Robert Southey to Henry Herbert Southey, 7 August [1817]*

Dover. Thursday 7 Aug

My dear Harry

I shall be in Q Anne Street in a few hours after this letter. We landed between ten & eleven last night, safe & sound, after travelling about 3000 miles without the slightest accident or mishap of any kind. I found your letter at Brussels, – but it was too late to answer it – as I found after writing to J May. I have no news from home later than the 10th of June & am of course very anxious: – a letter no doubt has been lost.

God bless you

RS.
